Recognizing a critical gap in strategic financial guidance for venture-backed startups, Jeff Burkland founds Burkland Associates to provide high-caliber CFO services and financial support to startups. Burkland was built on the belief that businesses of all sizes deserve high-quality financial insight.
As more businesses came to Burkland for high-level advice, they also needed reliable day-to-day support — so we launched our bookkeeping and accounting services. From day one, our goal was clear: deliver clean, timely financials that help business owners make smart decisions.

As companies scale, people problems grow more complex. In 2022 we brought HR and payroll into the fold to support everything from compliance to culture, helping businesses hire smarter, stay protected, and build stronger teams — without the burden of doing it all in-house.
By 2024, Burkland was supporting over 800 businesses with accounting, payroll, tax, and strategic finance services. With each engagement, we refined what growing companies truly need: responsive service, clean financials, and a partner who understands how to scale operational finance with confidence.
In 2025, we launched Burkland Business to bring our trusted financial operations model to a new kind of client — established companies with growing complexity, big ambitions, and no time for back-office inefficiencies.
